The sad thruth that many youngsters don like to hear! Taken from Shannon Larrat’s facebook, this is what he has to say :

maybe the reason people never got tattoos on the visible parts of their skin was because back then it was harder to get a job looking like that? but thats changed and nowadays most bosses are comfortable with that? when i wanted to get a tattoo my mom used to tell me not to get one on my hands or arms where it could be seen when wearing a simple tshirt because that was her generation and she didnt want me to end up without a job because of some tattoos jesus can you people stop interpreting so much in stuff thats actually not that complicated

Because there are plenty of jobs out there for 21 year olds without skills or expirience with facial tattoos while the bodmod market is oversaturated with artists and ink tv shows drop as flies (or as other temporary hype).

Its hard enough for people I know without body modifications to get a job let alone trying to find one where heavy/visible mods are acceptable.

I think its stupid when people get tattoos is highly visible places when they don’t have a stable job but at the end of the day its their own body and the ones wearing the tattoos are the only ones that are going to suffer the consequences so I couldn’t really give a shit to be honest.

This kind of baffles me. This wasn’t even about peoria without jobs getting visible tattoos. It was about the difference in generations of tattoo placement. A job isn’t about what’s on, or not on, your body. If they like you, they’ll hire you. Have a good resume, be professional, that’s what they care about

I agree that there are jobs outside of the bodymodification industry where you can get employed as a hard working , talented person with visible mods but not everyone wants that in their life. Some people don’t want to live for their job and work harder than others, they want a quiet 9-5 which if perfectly fine. But it is unfortunatly still a fact that in many conventional jobs you will have to do that in order to proof yourself when you got heavy mods. With throat tattoos your job possibilities are limited, sad but true.
